JSC «KHRAMHESI I» is an alpine power plant, located at the height exceeding 1000 m, in the southern-western part of Georgia - Tsalka District, at the distance of 120 km from Tbilisi. Construction of hydroelectric power plant began in 1934; it was launched into operation in December 1947. It consists of 3 hydroelectric power units; the rated power of each unit is 37.6 megawatt.
One of the significant parts of hydroelectric power plant infrastructure is annual storage reservoir situated in Tsalka as well as outgoing underground and ground-surface triple power pipeline
